Luke's 4th Birthday Party

We celebrated Luke's 4th birthday last Sunday with the Jensens. Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Sue were wonderful enough to let us use their house for the party. Luke had so much fun that he couldn't stop talking about it! His theme was 'monsters'. Well, here, let the pictures do the talking!
I stitched up some blank fleece monster softies and cut out some felt eyes, mouths, moustaches & such. At the party, the kids created their own monsters by gluing them onto their monster blanks.
I also made up some monster felt finger puppet kits and the kids made those too.

What A Weekend!

We had such a great weekend! Saturday we had a day of crafts and the kids had so much fun! Most of the crafts were ones they got for Christmas. Then later we put on a movie and tried out our new popcorn maker from Aunt Janet. The kids love that popcorn maker! Sometimes the popcorn would shoot out just right and send a few pieces flying in the air and the kids couldn't stop laughing! Entertaining AND yummy!!
Sunday we had an unexpected offer made to us. A Chihuahua puppy. She was a bit of a rescue puppy. She wasn't treated terrible but she wasn't treated how she should have been either. Since we both LOVE big dogs, we never planned on getting a small dog. We never thought we would ever get one either but we cant have big dogs out here- no fences- and we really wanted to get a dog for the kids. So we said yes and she became my birthday present from Rocky- though shes really the family's dog. She use to sleep outside with some feral kittens and we think she might think shes a cat...she purrs!
The kids named her Coraline after the main character in one of their favorite books. I think Rocky loves her most of all- which is odd because though he is a dog lover, he swore that he didn't care for little dogs. But there he was, playing on the floor with her all night long (she seems to have a weak spot for him too!).

New Years

Though all the kids stayed up until midnight, only Luke and Emily seemed to be in the spirit. They had a blast banging pots and yelling "Happy New Year" to welcome 2009. We had a fun evening. Luke has since asked (nearly every night) if we can do New Years again. He just doesn't want to go to bed!

Play Ball!

We got this for Luke for Christmas and he loves it! Though he is a south paw, he hits from both sides! Hmm, could be useful when he gets to the majors...Emily got a few hits in too.Luke took a break to change his clothes. He gets his fashion sense from his father...

Our Own Private Concert

Last week we were given our own private concert. I completely forgot about our new video camera and instead grabbed my phone. So, please excuse the quality and shaking (as I was trying not to laugh!).
